AUDITORIUM is the annual lecture series, which Stad en Architectuur organizes in Leuven at the Stuk Auditorium.
Well-known international architects and scholars are invited to give lectures, confronting their research and works with the urgencies of the contemporary debate in architecture. This year the topic of the debate will focus on the ambiguous relationship between power, politics and the production of form.
In the past serving the powers of propaganda and in contemporary the more subtle and slippery financial one, architecture is revealed as a very ductile manipulator, itself manipulated by power and politics. The blur of the boundaries between the public and the private, together with the environmental urgencies of our times are introducing an epochal changing in the way architects act.
